Breaking down the forecast for your holiday weekend plans
After a few showers early Wednesday, skies cleared at Silver Beach in Saint Joseph by Wednesday afternoon.
Rain chances will likely be just high enough to warrant a daily check of the ABC57 First Warning Neighborhood Weather App throughout the holiday weekend. However, no day appears to be a washout, and most of your plans should go off without a hitch from Mother Nature.
If you're planning to head to the beach this weekend, Sunday looks like your best bet. Watch out for a few morning showers or thunderstorms on Friday, and yellow flag swimming conditions on Saturday. Water temperatures will be in the lower to middle 60s, which are cooler than last weekend in Lake Michigan, but still palatable.
If you can hold off grilling Friday morning, then your barbecue will likely stay dry across Michiana, save an isolated shower at times on July 4th.
Finally, the rain should hold off for fireworks time from Wednesday through Saturday. The time to watch will be the night of July 4th (Thursday). Rain chances have been trending later, however, meaning most of the wet weather should arrive after fireworks end.
