South Bend Community Police Review Board met Thursday night
ATLANTA, Ga. -- For 36 years, members of the 1988 national championship team have been the kings of Irish Nation, but they are ready to pass the crown.
This weekend has been a reunion for that famed 1988 team.
All Americans Wes Pritchett and Frank Stams, and Hall of Fame linebacker Michael Stonebreaker -- "the three amigos" -- have held a couple of parties this weekend here in Atlanta to reminisce with fans and to do a live edition of their podcast "Under the Golden Dome."
They talked about the similarities between the 1988 team and this year's squad are undeniable.
"I think the kids talk about how close they are to each other which is what we had," Pritchett said.
"We played as a team, we had a great defense, we won the special teams' battle, and we had an offense that could control the line of scrimmage and control the ball and not give the ball back to the other team. So, we have all the attributes of that team that really are very similar to the team today."
The guys from the "Under the Golden Dome" podcast are also selling shirts that will benefit Holtz's Heroes Foundation.
