Boys and Girls Club of Benton Harbor changes its name

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- The Boys and Girls Clubs of Benton Harbor announced on Monday the new name for the organization.

The non-profit will now be known as the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Southwest Michigan.

The renamed club will be expanding the model used in Benton Harbor to a broader geographical area to help reach to more children.

“Community change doesn’t happen overnight; it’s a process of everyone coming together for the greater good,” said Alloyd Blackmon, Chief Executive Officer. “Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Southwest Michigan is committed to long-term, strategic planning for stable and sustainable growth of our programs.”

The club will continue to leverage learnings from its legacy clubs in Benton Harbor to inform expanded services in new communities while remaining committed to provide high-quality services.
