Benton Harbor police searching for suspect in fatal shooting

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- Benton Harbor police are searching for the person who killed 34 year old Jonah Anderson in front of his home Wednesday night.

"We’ve heard from neighbors consistently that Anderson was a guy that didn’t have any troubles, just a guy that was taking care of his family which makes it that much more frustrating that this would happen to somebody like that." expressed Daniel McGinnis, Deputy Director Police Services for Benton Harbor Public Safety Department.

Police were called to 766 Pavone Street just after 10:00 Wednesday night. Officers found Anderson slumped over. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No arrests have been made in the case.

"We want any and all leads to this incident and we won't stop until we can get answers for that family," Deputy Director McGinnis said.

The Benton Harbor Public Safety Department is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in this case.

If you have any information you can call the public safety department, Detective Clark: 269-927-8435.
