Amber Pasztor appears in court on murder charges in Allen County

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. -- The woman who smothered her two children to death, then drove their bodies to the Elkhart Police station was in court in Allen County Monday for an initial hearing on another murder charge.

Amber Pasztor is accused of killing Frank Macomber in September 2016 in Allen County, just before she abducted and killed Liliana Hernandez and Rene Pasztor.

Pasztor attempted to enter a guilty plea, but the court would not allow it. A not guilty plea was entered on her behalf by the court, according to affiliate WPTA.

She wants to represent herself in court, but she must undergo a competency review before she will be allowed to do so.

Her first competency hearing is scheduled for Wednesday morning.

Pasztor has already been sentenced to 130 years in prison for the deaths of her children.
