32-mile 'bike hike' through Amish countryside planned for June 8

GOSHEN, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Parks Department is hosting the Pumpkinvine Bike Hike on June 8 where riders will take the fully paved Pumpkinvine Nature Trail from Abshire Park to Shipshewana and back.

The 32-mile 'bike hike' will begin at 9 a.m. and riders are encouraged to bring money as the group will be stopping at Mooney's Amish Ice Cream Shop along the way. 

"Please join us for a fun trip through the beautiful scenic Amish countryside," organizers said. "All riders need to provide their own bicycle, helmets and water bottle."

The cost is free, and no registration is required.
