Man faces felony charges after allegedly making threat to local school over SnapChat

Stephen Arther Ullery Jr.

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- The St, Joseph County Prosecutor's Offices announced charges have been filed against a man after a tip was submitted on Feb. 19 to the FBI National Threat Operations Center and Exigent Threat Research and Analysis Center regarding a SnapChat user making a threat to a local school.

The report states the user, later identified as Stephen Arther Ullery Jr., posted a video of a firearm with text overlay reading “Time to go visit ur local school.”

Authorities say the geolocation information revealed the video originated in St. Joseph County, leading to the St. Joseph County Police Department and FBI Task Force to begin an investigation.

The investigation determined Ullery to be the user and on Feb. 20, officers along with members of the FBI executed a search warrant at a residence in the 60250 block of Myrtle Road in South Bend.

Authorities located Ullery and during the search, they say numerous firearms, including a firearm consistent with the one in the SnapChat video, were recovered at the residence.

Ullery was then arrested and taken to the St. Jospeh County Jail.

On Friday, the prosecutor's office formally charged Ullery Intimidation, a Class A Misdemeanor, Intimidation, a Level 5 Felony, and Intimidation, a Level 5 Felony.

The sentencing range for a Level 5 felony is one to six years with a maximum fine of $10,000.

The sentencing range for a Class A Misdemeanor is a maximum of one year incarceration and up to a $5,000 fine.
