18-year-old sentenced to 60 years in prison for death of Vincenzo Trozzy

An 18-year-old has been sentenced to 60 years in prison for the murder of Vincenzo Trozzy, according to the St. Joseph County Prosecutor's Office.

Tayshawn Malczynski, 18, was sentenced to 20 years for voluntary manslaughter, 35 years for attempted murder and 5 years on the firearm enhancement. The sentences will run consecutively.

Malczynski was found guilty of attempted murder by a jury at trial in July, but they were unable to reach a verdict on the murder or robbery charges.

He later pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and the firearm enhancement. The attempted robbery charge was dismissed.
