SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- This weekend, thousands of participants and spectators will fill local hotels, restaurants, and more. Visit South Bend/ Mishawaka estimates that 2 million dollars will be injected into the local economy.
There are 5 events, including a baseball tournament taking place at Notre Dame and Bethel Universities, a Little League World Series qualifier, and a lacrosse tournament involving 8 teams from six states, and the Baton Twirling Championship taking place at Notre Dame as well.
Youth sports in St. Joseph County brings in 27 million dollars a year, while Notre Dame home games bring in 36 million.
