YMCA 5K/10K race takes place July 17
ST. JOSEPH, Mich. – The 10th annual Race for YMCA 5K/10K will take place in person on Saturday, July 17 at 8:30 a.m.
The event is the largest fundraiser for the Benton Harbor-St. Joseph YMCA all year, with proceeds supporting families in the Benton Harbor and St. Joseph communities.
“We encourage families to come out to the race and be healthy together while having fun and supporting the Y,” said Monica Norton, Race Director and Director of Healthy Living at the YMCA of Greater Michiana. “We’re so excited to welcome participants back with a live event this year.”
The event offers a 5K walk, 5K run, and 10K run along the St. Joseph River, Lake Michigan Silver Beach, Lions Park Beach, and Howard Recreational Trail in southwest Michigan. All races start and finish at the Margaret B Upton Arboretum.

Those who choose a virtual option can run or walk the distance anywhere and will also receive this year’s official race shirt and bib. Virtual racers will have from July 17 to July 25 to complete the race and upload times.
Registration is open now through race day.
Regular registration is $30 per person for ages 15 and older, and $20 per person for ages 14 and younger.
