Woman injured in shooting in La Porte

LA PORTE, Ind. -- La Porte Police are investigating a shooting that injured a woman Monday evening.

Police were called to a residence in the 1100 block of Clay Street around 9:30 p.m. to investigate the shooting.

A woman inside the home had at least one gunshot wound, reports said.

The initial investigation revealed there was an argument between the victim and a man who fled the scene before officers arrived, police said.

Police rendered aid to the victim until medics arrived.

She was transported to a hospital in Indianapolis.

Police said the victim and the suspect knew each other and believe this was an isolated incident.

The case remains under investigation.
