Woman injured in ATV crash on Woodland Drive

VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. -- A woman sustained serious injuries in an ATV crash Saturday evening, according to the Van Buren County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded to an ATV crash in the 47000 block of Woodland Drive around 9 p.m. Saturday, along with a Michigan State trooper, EMS and firefighters.

The investigation revealed a 42-year-old woman from Illinois was operating an ATV in a field and lost control of the vehicle.

The ATV went into a ditch and ejected the 42-year-old driver and her passenger.

The driver sustained serious injuries and was transported to a hospital in Kalamazoo.

The passenger suffered minor injuries and was treated and released at the scene.

Deputies said the passenger and driver were not wearing helmets.

Deputies were assisted by Michigan State Police, Pride Ambulance and Bangor Fire.
