Wisconsin man arrested on multiple counts of dealing cocaine and methamphetamine

La PORTE, Ind. -- A man from Wisconsin has been arrested on multiple counts of dealing cocaine and methamphetamine.

29-year-old Maurice Willams of Milwaukee was first found on Friday, when deputies with the Laporte County Sheriff's Office monitored him traveling upwards of 45 miles per hour above the speed limit on U.S 20.

A motor vehicle pursuit happened after Williams failed to stop, the pursuit ended as Williams got further away. Later that evening deputies from the Lake County Sheriff's Department would spot the vehicle and begin pursuing again.

Willams then crashed into the rear of a semi-trailer and tried to flee on foot before getting caught.

Willams is now being held in the Laporte County jail on multiple charges including dealing cocaine, dealing methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon and resisting law enforcement.
