ABC57 First Warning Neighborhood Weather Forecast
Friday, January 17, 2025
Mild temperatures this afternoon and evening will continue to support snowmelt. However, overnight conditions will turn wet, with rain transitioning to a rain/snow mix around midnight. As temperatures drop below freezing before daybreak, the wintry mix will change to all snow. Snow showers will persist into the early morning hours but taper off by the afternoon.
Although snowfall could be moderate to heavy at times, it will be brief, resulting in light accumulations of 0.5" to 1" across Michiana. With ground temperatures remaining above freezing for several days, travel impacts Saturday morning are expected to be minor. Roads will likely be slushy and wet, with slick spots more common on bridges and overpasses.
Saturday’s high temperatures will near 30°F, signaling the beginning of a cooling trend. By Sunday, temperatures will quickly fall to the teens, and single digits are forecast to start the week. Wind chills on Monday and Tuesday are expected to plunge well below zero.
Tonight: Snow/rain showers. Low 26.
Tomorrow: AM snow showers. High 30.
Sunday: Lake effect snow showers. High 15F.
MLK DAY(Monday): Frigid. Chance of snow showers. High 5.
