Fusion Fest 2026 takes over Howard Park, offering food from five continents

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Fusion Fest 2026 took over Howard Park as the best of culture and creativity from North America, South America, Asia, Africa, and Europe met in one space.  

For Michiana residents, the event provided a good space to enjoy their favorite food, art, and live performances from around the globe.

For attendees like Nathan Smith, Fusion Fest was used as a getaway from the everyday grind.  

“It’s a chance just to forget that for a moment and enjoy the wonderful vibes of dancing,” Smith said. “Just to block the stress, and if it’s only for a weekend, then it’s worth it. I love the energy, vibes, and diversity. It’s all good.”  

Two of those people providing energy, vibes, and diversity can be found at the Jamaica Irie Kitchen.  

Sherida King and her daughter Shanika offering the most authentic version of their flavorful Jamaican dishes.  

“Jamaica is our culture of cooking the jerk chicken, rice and beans, and the fruit cake is right here,” King said. “I think it’s more authentic. It's more real.”   

Jamaica Irie Kitchen was just one of 29 local restaurants, food-trucks, and pop-up vendors which attendees got to choose from.
