LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- No injuries are reported at Westville Correctional Facility after Indiana Department of Corrections officials say an inmate set his blanket on fire.

According to IDOC, the incident happened September 23 at approximately 7:00 p.m. A prisoner reportedly set his blanket on fire in one of the prison's housing units in protest of an unrelated disciplinary matter.

Officials say staff extinguished the fire immediately and evacuated the unit while they vented the smoke.

According to a statement, the prisoner who set to the fire was moved to "alternate quarters."
