Water Boil Advisory will be in effect for parts of Knox starting May 30
KNOX, Ind. -- The City of Knox Water Department announced on Monday that crews will be working on a water main in Parkview Heights that will result in the water being off for roughly four to five hours starting around 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 30.
"In consultation with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, it has been determined that the water customers in the affected area should boil their drinking water," Water Works official Tim Lindewald said. "This precautionary measure is recommended because we are experiencing a loss of water pressure within your service area."
Lindewald said that once service is restored, it is recommended that all cooking and drinking water be brought to a complete boil for five (5) minutes before using.
The water boil advisory will be in effect until the city notifies the public otherwise.
"We appreciate your cooperation during this time and will update you as necessary until the drinking water problem has been solved," Lindewald said. "If you have any questions concerning the drinking water problem, please contact your water department at 574-772-3032."
