Vice Presidential Candidate JD Vance speaks in Byron Center Michigan
BYRON CENTER, Mich. -- Vice Presidential Candidate JD Vance spoke for about 40 minutes to a crowd of several hundred people in Byron Center Michigan, located about 15 minutes outside of Grand Rapids.
The speech took place at a warehouse for the local trucking company Cordes INC.
Vance, drove straight into attacks against Vice President Kamala Harris in his speech.
"...And that makes Kamala Harris directly responsible for this inflation disaster, because she cast the tie-breaking vote on nearly $2 Trillion in reckless spending. Not only that, she then cast another tie-breaking vote on a radical left-wing spending wish list, which spent millions and billions of dollars on green energy scams. That's another couple trillion dollars," stated Vance.
This comes exactly one week after the Democrat ticket, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, rallied in Detroit.
The latest New York Times poll found Harris slightly in the lead in Michigan, which is a key battleground state in this election.
Biden won the state in 2020, and Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer's name came up as a possible Vice-Presidential pick for Harris.
Whitmer, taking herself out of the race, started the 'Fight Like Hell' Super PAC to support the Harris Campaign.
It could be an uphill battle for Vance, trying to bring back Michigan voters.
Despite the excitement surrounding Harris, Trump's base has not seemed to waver much, and supporters are not quick to forget his recent assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Amongst the crowd at Vance's rally Wednesday, many people wore MAGA hats with the now famous image of Trump holding up his fist after he was grazed by a bullet at that rally.
In is speech, Vance hit on key Republican issues, like the boarder, the economy, and especially inflation.
“When we say that we will make America great again, we mean something simple. Safe streets for our families, a secure border, affordable food for our children, and the American dream, whether it's to buy a home or to see your children do better off than you did, that is achievable. Let's get it done," said Vance.
