SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Portage Township Trustee, Jason Critchlow, took to Facebook to express his frustrations after the latest incident happened over night Wednesday at the new location along the St. Joe River.
Crews were out Thursday morning to pick up the broken pieces after employees believed someone used a brick to smash through a window overlooking Howard Park, to steal a laptop inside.
This just days after a billet penetrated the window at the old office location on William Street, adding to the list of repairs including two car windows that were smashed in the Parking Lot earlier this month.
Deputy Trustee, Lana Cleary, said that they will be upping security at the site, but not putting a stop to business as usual.
“Security is a top priority because we are here to serve the residence at Portage Township and continue mission and expand on what we’re doing so we’re not through yet we’re here, and this is not going to slow us down or deter us,” said Cleary.
The South Bend Police Department did confirm they are investigating, but it is still too early to confirm if the incidents are related.
There is still no suspect at this time.
