Bourbon community rallies around Triton boys' basketball team ahead of Class 1A State Title game
BOURBON, Ind. -- In less than 24 hours, the Triton High boys' basketball team will take the floor with one goal in mind - bringing a state title back to the town of Bourbon.
The Trojans have been firing on all cylinders this season, winning 25 of their 28 games so far.
They’ve been fighting and grinding all season, and now the Triton Trojans find themselves one game away from making history.

They've made it look somewhat easy lately, winning 15 games in a row dating back to late January.
"These kids put in a lot of work throughout the years, just working on their own individual game, and us as a team, going places in the summer and playing, it's nice to see that pay off, and that community support, and I think they see that and realize this is a special opportunity for us," said Jason Groves, Triton boys basketball head coach.
The support from the community can be found all over Bourbon.
Sophomore guard Brady Wood says it's something he and his teammates appreciate.
"It means the world to us, having a great fanbase is one of the biggest things in basketball, so it's a great motivator and once again just feels great to have such a great community," said Wood.
The community support isn't the only thing bringing these student athletes together.
Check out the tops of their heads - the Trojans have gone full late 90s/early 2000s Eminem with the blonde hair in the name of team bonding.
"It was a great experience and first of all, I was like I am not doing this, until they called me at 8 o'clock on a Sunday, and they're like you've got to come to the salon, and I'm like alright, I can't be the only one that doesn't do it, it was fun though, I don't regret it at all," said Wood.
But don't get it twisted - The Trojans are locked in on one thing; bringing the 1A championship trophy back to Bourbon.
"Just have fun, enjoy the moment, live in the moment, but also, remember, we have a basketball game to play, stick with the fundamentals, stick with what got you there, sometimes kids get on the big stage and they want to do a little too much. Just relax, do what got you there this whole time and we'll be fine," said Groves.
