USPS to begin consolidating, closing mail processing plants

This week the United States Postal Service is expected to begin consolidating and closing dozens of mail processing plants.

Officials could jump into action Monday. This comes after a last-minute effort to stop the plan failed on Friday.

Some 48 plants across the country will be impacted over the next two months. The agency also says it's reducing the size of its workforce.
