UPDATE: Middlebury employee takes porn problem to town council
MIDDLEBURY, Ind. -- An update to a story we first brought you last month about porn on the job.
Two employees at the Middlebury Wastewater treatment plant said they are being harassed by their boss, because they reported one of their co-workers looking at porn on a work computer.
They said they have lost privileges at work and even been written up twice.
Monday night they took their concerns to the town council.
"They basically shut me down..they told me that they didn't have time to listen to me," said Middlebury wastewater employee Jimmy Koontz.
Jimmy Koontz asked if he could play a tape for the council, which he says proves he has been getting verbally abused by his boss at the wastewater treatment plant.
"((What's on these tapes)) It is me being verbally abused... my job being threatened," said Koontz.
But the council said the tapes in question have to be reviewed privately.
"We will call a special session for that...((and everyone here is going to be invited to that session)) no...it will only be the council," said council President Gary O'Dell
The president of the town council says they are resolving the issue.
"We have separated that department..the person's involved so that there will be no detrimental action from either side," said O'Dell.
"What I have heard today is that he is on paid limited leave..which means he comes in to work for two hours and then leaves," said Koontz.
O'Dell says the whole porn personnel issue has been blown out of proportion.
"It is just a clash in personalities ..truly it is," said O'Dell.
But Koontz said it is much more than that.
"I'm being harassed," said Koontz. He said he just wants to come to work knowing he is safe for doing what he thinks is right.
Currently, there is an internal investigation about the porn peeping. O'Dell said the investigation will wrap up in a few weeks.
