MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. -- First police said he was shot in the stomach.
But now, hospital records show that 20-year-old Daniel Sherrod took a bullet to the back last week from a Michigan City police officer.
Within the hour, Indiana State Police just released information that said they now believe Sherrod was shot in the back while he and the officer struggled for the gun.
ABC 57 News sat down with Eunice Hicks, Sherrod's mother, on Monday. Hicks said she doesn't feel confident with the Indiana State Police investigating her son's case if it takes them five days just to clarify the facts, i.e., that her son was shot in the back, not the stomach.
ABC 57's Judi Lykowski reports.
