ELKHART, Ind. -- The Elkhart Police Department reports officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Jackson Boulevard and 2nd Street which occurred around 12:25 p.m., Thursday.

Authorities say a Honda Pilot and Chevy Malibu collided near 116 Jackson Blvd. resulting in a traffic light pole being taken out as well.

Police say the street department has been notified, but there's no estimate of when it will be repaired at this time.

The report states the initial investigation indicates the driver of the Pilot ran a red light and struck the Malibu.

Occupants of the Malibu suffered what are believed to be minor injuries.

The traffic light was reportedly still down as of 3:25 p.m. Thursday.
