Red Rock Inn targets demolition for within the next week according to owner

PLYMOUTH, Ind. -- Now abandoned, surrounded by overgrown grass, broken glass and littered with closed signs, The Red Rock Inn is facing its final days, and surrounding businesses are taking notice.

The Food Mart, directly across the street from Red Rock, is one of the few businesses that has been in direct eyesight of the Inn.

For one Food Mart employee, who has been working at the gas station for four years, says he hopes to see a new and thriving version of a place like this one.

“Bring really good and affordable housing,” The employee says. “Everything is expensive in Plymouth and there’s not too much housing, renting, or apartments. They’ve built condos, but they’re really expensive and most people can't afford it.”

Many surrounding businesses we spoke to did not want to be on camera but shared the same sentiment of excitement for the future.

When speaking with red rock owner, Nil Patel over the phone, he says he is still unsure of a start date but aiming for some time within the next week.

“When they bring the dumpster, and a couple of other things on the sight, then they start,” Patel says. “But I don’t know when. Maybe this week or maybe Monday.”
