Two-vehicle crash sends woman to hospital, driver cited

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash on C.R. 20 just west of C.R. 9 on Monday around 4:18 p.m.

The report states a 2017 Jeep Cherokee, driven by 26-year-old Diana Rangel of Elkhart, was traveling east on C.R. 20 west of C.R. 9.

A 2008 Jeep Commander, driven by 18-year-old Therisa K McFarland, was traveling west on C.R. 20 west of C.R. 9 when Rangel crossed the center line.

Rangel's front end then struck McFarland's front end.

Rangel was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.

McFarland was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Rangel was cited for traveling left of center.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
