ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. - - The Elkhart Police Department reports officers responded to a two-vehicle crash on C.R. 22 west of C.R. 29 which occurred around 4:40 a.m., Thursday, sending one person to the hospital.

Investigation shows that 25-year-old Goshen resident Jose Bautista was traveling northeast on C.R. 22 when he lost control of his Toyota Pickup due to excessive speed on icy roads. 

His vehicle went into the opposite lane and struck the front end of a Ford SUV driven by a 26-year-old Goshen resident who was traveling south on C.R. 29. Both vehicles went off the side of the roadway coming to a stop nearby.

The driver of the Ford was taken to Goshen Hospital for minor injuries sustained in the crash.
