Two taken to the hospital following a crash on SR 119 and CR 17

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – A driver and passenger were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a two-car crash at the intersection of SR 119 and CR 17 on Saturday, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash took place just before 2:45 pm. Deputies say that a 2018 Honda Civic was traveling north on CR 17, at the intersection of SR 119, when the driver allegedly disregarded the traffic signal.

A 2016 Jeep Patriot allegedly collided into the front of the Honda, deputies said.

The driver of the Honda was treated at the scene. Both the driver and passenger of the Jeep were taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Honda was also cited for disregarding the traffic signal, deputies said. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the crash.
