Two people arrested after altercation with hatchet, chair
ELKHART, Ind. – Two people were arrested on Friday after an altercation involving a hatchet and a chair, the Elkhart Police Department reported.
At 3:43 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 1200 block of Waurika Street in reference to a trespassing situation.
The individual identified as the suspect, 25-year-old Austin Sullivan, allegedly struck a second individual, 38-year-old John McMahan, with a hatchet during a physical altercation, according to reports.
McMahan allegedly struck Sullivan with a chair during a physical altercation, reports said.
Officers noticed visible injuries on both individuals.
No individuals at the scene requested medical attention as a result of the incident.
Sullivan was arrested for battery with a deadly weapon.
McMahan was arrested for battery.
