ABC 57

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- The Marshall County Sheriff's Department reports deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash around 3:06 p.m. on Wednesday on U.S. 30 near Yellow River Bridge just west of U.S. 31.

Based on the scene, witness statements, and vehicle occupant statements, deputies say a 2020 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling east on U.S. 30 when it veered off the road to the right and collided with a guardrail.

The driver, a 23-year-old Ohio man, told deputies the crash occurred due to a mechanical failure and lockup of the front passenger side brakes.

Both the driver and the passenger, another Ohio man, were taken to Plymouth Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
