Two local companies announce layoffs

Over 100 employees are being laid off at two companies with locations in Michiana.

Brinco, out of Bristol, laid off 43 permanent employees and 58 temporary workers. This includes positions like welders and associates.

The layoff is tied to a two-month strike with one of Brinco’s customers, leading to decreased demand for Brinco products.

The company expects the layoff to last less than six months.

Exo-s, which has locations in Howe, Indiana, and Coldwater, Michigan, laid off 56 employees, all machinists, temporarily. The company did not give a reason for the decision.
