Two juveniles arrested for allegedly carrying a firearm without a permit
SOUTH BEND, Ind.— Two juveniles have been detained for allegedly carrying a firearm without a permit, according to the South Bend Police Department’s Facebook page.
On Wednesday at 6:40 am, South Bend police officers responded to a call for reports of a suspicious vehicle. As the officers arrived at the 1200 block of West Jefferson Boulevard, they noticed two individuals sleeping in the vehicle.
The officers also located a handgun with an extended magazine on the passenger’s lap, the post said.
Both individuals were woken up and detained without incident. At that time, a second handgun was also located, officers said.
One of the firearms was reported stolen out of Michigan.
The two juveniles were transported to the Juvenile Justice Center, according to officers.
