SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- On Friday, the City of South Bend Department of Public Works announced two projects that will disrupt traffic are set to begin in the next few days.
Starting Saturday, the northbound lane of Riverside Drive from Boland Drive to Cleveland Road will close for crews to complete curb work on the median islands in this vicinity.
The closure is expected to last until Friday, Nov. 22, depending on weather conditions.
Northbound traffic will detour west on Boland Drive, north on Portage Avenue to Cleveland Road. The southbound travel lane of Riverside Drive will not be impacted during the project.
Starting on Monday, Nov. 11, North Shore Drive will be closed between Michigan and Iroquois streets for sewer repair work. Lafayette Boulevard from North Shore Drive to Marquette Avenue will also be closed.
Detour routes will be in place via Michigan Street and Angela Boulevard. Residents in the impacted areas will have access to their homes during construction.
The street is expected to reopen Wednesday, Dec. 11, weather permitting.
