ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to S.R. 4 just west of C.R. 37 around 8:05 a.m., Friday, for a crash involving a horse-drawn cart and pick-up truck.

Authorities' initial investigation determined a truck traveling west on S.R. 4 struck the rear of the horse-drawn cart, carrying four juveniles.

Two juveniles were taken to Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.

The other two juveniles were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Elkhart County Crash Investigation Team is conducting the investigation.
