Two arrested on drug charges, stolen Chick-fil-a tools recovered

LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- The La Porte County Sheriff's Office reports a large amount of stolen property was recovered and two people were arrested following an investigation by the La Porte County Drug Task Force.

Authorities say the arrests resulted from an investigation into Dealing in a Controlled Substance.

The report states on March 12, the LCDTF, Michigan City Police Department SWAT, and the Michigan City Detective Bureau executed a search warrant at 422 Hoyt St. in Michigan City.

Authorities say during the search detectives observed miscellaneous tools matching the description of tools reported stolen on Jan. 28 from the newly constructed Chick-fil-A at 5809 Franklin St. in Michigan City.

Detectives then obtained an additional search warrant from the La Porte County Prosecutor's Office for the tools.

The warrant was issued, the scene was processed, and evidence was collected.

Authorities say approximately $9,000 worth of stolen property was recovered.

Following the search warrant, Kyle Fugate was arrested for Dealing in a Schedule II Controlled Substance, a Level 3 Felony, while Marisa Meeks was arrested for Dealing in a Schedule II Controlled Substance, a Level 2 Felony.
