Transpo announces service adjustments for Notre Dame vs. Indiana University playoff game

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Public Transportation Corporation announced service adjustments and detours will be in place for the University of Notre Dame vs. Indiana University College Football Playoff Game taking place on Friday, Dec. 20.

Officials say the Game Day Express route will be running for this game.

#17 Sweep – The Sweep route will not run on Friday, Dec. 20. The last service day for the Sweep will be Thursday, Dec. 19. Service resumes following Christmas Break on Monday, Jan. 13.

#5 North Michigan – The 3:20 p.m., 4:20 p.m., and 5:20 p.m. trips will be canceled.

#7 ND/UP Mall – The ND Library Circle will be bypassed the entire service day on Friday, Dec. 20.

The following detour will be in place:

Outbound – From LaSalle Avenue, buses will turn left on Eddy Street to S.R. 23, resuming the regular route.

Inbound – From UP Mall, buses will turn left on S.R. 23 to Eddy Street, turn right on Colfax Avenue resuming the regular route.

#13 Corby / Town & Country

The following detour will be in place:

Outbound – From Hill Street, buses will turn right on South Bend Avenue, left on S.R.23 / Eddy Street, right on Corby Boulevard resuming the regular route.

Inbound – From Corby Blvd, buses will turn left on S.R. 23 / Eddy Street, right on South Bend Avenue (at Campeau Street), left on Hill Street resuming the regular route

Game Day Express Route – The Game Day Express route will run on Friday, Dec. 20. The pre-game Game Day Express will run three hours prior to game time with the last departure one hour before kickoff time (4 to 7 p.m.) and for two hours following the game (approximately 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.)

The Game Day Express route will continue to be free for all riders. Free parking will be available in the Century Center Parking Lot. There may be delays throughout the system due to game day traffic. Passengers are encouraged to plan accordingly and consider taking an earlier bus to reach their destination on time.
