Tolson Center and Lemonade Day partner for entrepreneurial summer camp experience
ELKHART, Ind. -- Junior Achievement and Lemonade Day of Elkhart County announced their partnership with the Tolson Center and their participation in the Lemonade Day programs during their summer camp.
Organizers say this partnership will provide campers with hands-on entrepreneurial experience and valuable life skills through engaging activities and events.
The program kicks off with Lemonade Day University at JA BizTown in Elkhart on Monday, July 22.
Lemonade Day University offers campers an introduction to entrepreneurship and the basics of starting and running a business.
On Tuesday, July 23, Viewrail will supply materials for the kids to build their own Pallet Lemonade Stands at the Tolson Center.
Organizers say this hands-on workshop will empower the young entrepreneurs to create and customize their stands and foster creativity and practical skills.
On Wednesday, July 24, Momentum Marketing will guide the campers through the essentials of marketing their lemonade stands.
Organizers say this session will give kids the knowledge to effectively promote their businesses, attract customers, and drive sales.
On Thursday, July 25, organizers say there will be a special visit from the 2023 Elkhart Lemonade Day Entrepreneurs of the Year.
Organizers say these young business leaders will share their experiences and insights, with the aim of inspiring campers with their success stories.
Campers will also get to enjoy fresh-squeezed lemonade, providing a break and a taste of what they will be selling.
The program culminates on Saturday, August 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Tolson Center.
Campers will set up and operate their lemonade stands at the Minority Health Coalition Annual Health Fair and Back 2 School event.
This event offers young entrepreneurs a real-world opportunity to apply their new skills, engage with the community, and experience rewards from their hard work.
“We are excited to partner with Lemonade Day and provide our campers with this incredible opportunity,” said Velishea Billings Smiley, Program Director at the Tolson Center. “This program aligns perfectly with our mission to empower youth and equip them with the skills they need for a successful future.”
