Thursday night hit-and-run crash sends two to hospital

ABC 57

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to the 22000 block of C.R. 10 just west of C.R. 17 for a hit-and-run crash around 10:11 p.m., Thursday.

The report states a 2013 Ford F-150, driven by a 49-year-old Osceola woman, was traveling east on C.R. 10 when another vehicle driving east in the adjacent lane moved over, striking the driver's side of the truck.

Authorities say the collision caused the truck to spin around onto the curb at the road's south side.

The driver said that's when the other vehicle went off the roadway, into a ditch, before driving back onto C.R. 10 and continued going east.

A 34-year-old Wakarusa woman, the passenger in the F-150, was taken to the hospital with complaints of neck pain.

The 49-year-old driver was also taken to the hospital for neck and back pain.

Deputies say the crash remains under investigation.
