Third annual Festival of Jazz and Jim Pickley Memorial concert

MISHAWAKA, Ind. - - Bethel University is inviting community members to join them for a day of music, learning and entertainment.

The third Annual Festival of Jazz and Jim Pickley Memorial Concert is set to take place all day long February 15 at Bethel University.

The event will host six area high school jazz bands including Mishawaka, Elkhart, Jimtown, Adams, and Penn allowing them to perform, learn, and improvise with expert clinicians from both Bethel University and the local community. The event will then end the day with an evening concert starting at 7 p.m. in the Everest-Rohrer Fine Arts Center Auditorium. 

The day's events and evening concert are open to the public and tickets for the evening concert are on sale now for $5 each.  

Those interested can purchase tickets online on Bethel University's event page or by calling the box office at 574-807-7080. Additionally, any high school student who isn't participating in the day's events are also invited to come out with a valid ticket as well as an adult supervisor. Signups are located on the webpage linked above. 

T-shirts, insulated event mugs, and other merchandise will be available for sale before and after the event. 

“We are the only college in the area hosting a one-day, immersive, educational jazz event like this with world-class artists/clinicians. We’re excited to help our Michiana high school jazz students and their directors as they continue their journey with Jazz!” said the director of Bethel Jazz Ensemble Steve Allen.
