DETROIT, Mich. -- The 2024 Presidential Campaign focused on Michigan today, one of the swing states that will help determine who wins the White House in Nov.
Former President Donald Trump's Republican Vice President Candidate J-D Vance was rallying supporters this morning, Aug. 7, in Macomb County, while current Vice President Kamala Harris and her newly named running mate Tim Walz took the stage outside Detroit.
ABC57's Dante Stanton was at the Detroit Metro Airport when the event was underway.
This is Harris' first campaign stop in Michigan since she announced her Presidential campaign, the last time she was here was July 17, just five days before President Joe Biden dropped out of the race.
ABC57 spoke with a Harris supporter right before the rally began, who was very excited about the state of the campaign with Harris announcing Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate.
"I'm extra excited about Tim Walz. Since he was announced as VP I feel really really energized. I think the ticket is phenomenally better than it was a few months ago and I think we're gonna win this thing," stated Nick Rosebush, who is rallying for Harris.
