The district notes that no member of the current or prior district administration will be conducting the investigation. Instead, independent investigators are handling it and will report their findings.

Hardman, a math teacher at Studebaker YAS, the district's young adult services program, is being investigated after photos began circulating on social media showing Hardman with who appears to be her former student.

SBCSC sent ABC57 News the following statement:

"The District is taking every appropriate precaution to ensure that this matter is reviewed thoroughly, objectively, and independently.

To ensure complete independence, neither anyone from the prior administration nor anyone from the current administration will conduct the investigation. The District has retained independent, outside investigators to investigate the allegations and report their findings.

As an interim, non-disciplinary precaution while the investigation is pending, the employee has been placed on paid administrative leave. The findings of the independent investigators will inform and determine the appropriate path forward.

We take these concerns and the safety of our students extremely seriously. Accordingly, there will be no further details, comments, or discussion regarding this matter until the independent investigation has been completed."
