SOUTH BEND, Ind -- The eighth ranked Notre Dame men's baseball team made it four straight wins with a 8-3 victory over Pittsburgh, in a pivotal ACC matchup.
John Michael Bertrand finished the game with seven strikeouts over seven innings.
Matching Bertrand’s effort on the mound were his teammates stepping into the batter's box.
The Irish raked in eight runs through nine innings, including five in the first, plus a two-run homer from Brooks Coetzee, lifting the Irish to an 8-3 win, in game one of the three game series.
The two teams will complete the three game series over the weekend at Frank Eck Stadium.
