The calm before the storm
Another calm day expected for Michiana today, with slightly warmer temperatures and sunny skies. All of it, however, the true calm before the storm with another round of severe weather headed our way. It will all start tonight, with scattered showers after sunset, a couple rumbles of thunder or two can't be ruled out with this morning system. The first round of precipitation will be associated with a warm front, so when we wake up Wednesday morning, we will notice warmer conditions and likely humidity in the areas that aren't seeing rain. Scattered showers expected through most of the day, even with these expected, energy for severe storms will still build in the afternoon, especially if these showers are associated with sun afterwards. Once again, the main threat is associated with a sweeping cold front, knocking on our door through the afternoon hours with storms expected to ramp up after 5pm and last until close to midnight. All threats are on the table again, Damaging Wind at the forefront, followed by a tornado chance. Due to saturated ground from this past weekend's storm, minor flooding could be an issue waking up Thursday morning. Thursday doesn't look terribly cool unlike yesterday, still seeing highs in the upper 50s, with a steady decrease before more shower chances this upcoming weekend.
