NOW: Mishawaka woman becomes proud homeowner with help from Muffet McGraw

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- Isela Guzman of Mishawaka became a proud homeowner this afternoon with some help from former Notre Dame Women's Basketball Head Coach, Muffet McGraw, and Habitat for Humanity of St Joseph County's Women Build Committee.

Guzman, McGraw and Habitat for Humanity built the home from the ground up, helping Guzman achieve the milestone of homeownership and allow for her family to celebrate the holidays in their new home.

"So today I closed on my first home ever as a woman who has never owned a home. This will be my, I guess, first time, first time owning a home." Said Guzman. "So, I guess the importance of just being a homeowner and doing it on my own and saying that I'm part of what was it, the female homeowner association."

"We're so proud of Isela and what she's done, and all the women out here, because we're all about empowering women." McGraw told ABC57. "Habitat for Humanity is all about women, helping women, empowering women, and anything that we can do to help women succeed in our community."
