'Thank a Police Officer Day' parade at Liberty Elementary School

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- The School City of Mishawaka announced students at Liberty Elementary School will celebrate "Thank a Police Officer Day" Tuesday, by welcoming officers from the Mishawaka Police Department.

Liberty students will line up outside of the school to cheer with posters as officers drive through the parking lot with lights and sirens going.

Several students will also be showing their appreciation by giving handmade "thank you" cards to officers.

Kelly Foley, a 4th grade teacher at Liberty, is spearheading the special event for the second year in a row.
