UPDATE 2: The 44-year-old woman airlifted to a hospital following the vehicle versus train crash Saturday, June 13 died Monday afternoon.

According to the Goshen Police in an update Wednesday, the victim, Yuliya Miroshnichenko, was pregnant at the time of the crash. Attempts to save the unborn child were also unsuccessful.

Miroshnichenko's husband and children were released from the hospital after being treated for their non-life-threatening injuries.

UPDATE 1: The Goshen Police Department shared the following statement:

On Saturday, June 13, at 5:22 p.m., Goshen Police and Fire Department personnel responded to the North Main Street train crossing after receiving reports of a train colliding with a vehicle. Officers arrived and located a SUV on the south side of the train tracks that had been struck by the train. Four occupants of the vehicle sustained injuries. An adult female, 44, was airlifted to a regional hospital. An adult male, 39, and 2 children, ages 5 & 6, were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing. There are no further details at this time.

GOSHEN, Ind. -- Goshen Police Department responded to a vehicle versus train collision at the Main Street railroad crossing, north of Pike Street, in Goshen. The incident prompted the closure of the Main Street crossing to traffic, with the Beaver Lane crossing also blocked while crews worked the scene.

At the scene, an SUV was found on the tracks with significant front-end damage. The vehicle remained largely intact. Emergency personnel taped off the area surrounding the tracks as crews worked to remove the SUV. The vehicle was subsequently towed from the railroad crossing.

Goshen Police requested the public avoid the area and use alternate routes while emergency personnel cleared the scene. No information on injuries or the circumstances of the collision was immediately released by authorities.
