UPDATE: Two arrested, charged for shooting of teen at Miami Hills Apartments

UPDATE: The South Bend Police Department announced two suspects have been arresting in connection with the non-fatal shooting of a 17-year-old at Miami Hills Apartments on Oct. 22.

The teen victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

SBPD's Violent Crimes Unit identified two people of interest in the shooting, Torrence Caston and Johnathan Williams, both 20 years old.

The St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office has now charged Caston and Williams for their roles in the incident.

Caston is charged with Robbery Resulting in Bodily Injury and Battery by Means of a Deadly Weapon.

Williams is charged with Robbery Resulting in Bodily Injury and Resisting Law Enforcement after attempting to run from police during a related search warrant.

Caston and Williams are being held at the St. Joseph County Jail.

ORIGINAL STORY: SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Police Department reports officers responded to Memorial Hospital around 8:45 p.m., Wednesday, for a reported walk-in gunshot wound victim.

Officers arrived to find the victim was a 17-year-old. The investigation determined the shooting occurred at Miami Hills Apartments.
