Teen run over by golf cart, driver issued warning

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Department is investigating after a golf cart ran over a teenager.

Deputies were called to the 53000 block of Ridgeview Lane just before noon on Monday.

Three people were riding in the golf cart when one of the passengers was knocked off the golf cart and was run over by it, according to deputies.

The 13-year-old male who was injured suffered cuts to his knees, back, legs and arms. He also injured his ankle.

Deputies said his injuries were non-life threatening.

The 13-year-old driver of the golf cart was given a warning for unlawful operation of a golf cart, deputies said.
