Teen cited for failure to yield the right of way following crash that left woman injured
ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to the intersection of S.R. 15 and C.R. 142 around 11:22 a.m., Friday, for a two-vehicle crash.
The report states a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by 19-year-old Kyle Schwartz of Millersburg, was traveling west on C.R. 142, east of SR 15.
A 2011 Honda Odyssey, driven by a 43-year-old Goshen woman, was traveling north on S.R. 15, south of C.R. 142.
Authorities say Schwartz stopped for the stop sign but then failed to yield the right of way, attempting to cross S.R. 15 and crashed into the Honda's passenger side.
The driver of the Honda had a complaint of chest pain and was taken to Goshen Hospital.
Schwartz was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
