Student-athletes celebrated at Penn High School Signing Day
ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- It was Signing Day at Penn High School Wednesday morning as the ceremony highlighted nine senior Kingsmen student-athletes.
Penn High senior Cole Bennett stated, "It's really a dream come true. I really, I imagined playing college football ever since I was a little kid, watching it with my dad. My dad coached me when I was really little, he told me to go play at the college level, and I stuck to that word, and I hope I made him proud."
Football wasn't the only sport represented at the ceremony, with other students signing for girls' lacrosse, softball, volleyball, baseball, and soccer.
Shelby Forsythe, who signed with St. Mary’s College girls' lacrosse, said, "So, I actually played softball for 10 years, and then I had a change in heart, and I spent time playing lacrosse about a year ago, and I loved it ever since. I pick up my stick all the time. I played in the summer. I've only been playing for a year."
